Is Obama a liar?

if the democrats had only listened to the tea party they could have avoided this current mess

I still remember a series of essays by Thomas Sowell prior to the 2008 election. He spelled out in non combative and clear detail what we would be getting if we elected Barack Obama as president.

Those essays have proved to be prophetic.

I can forgive the American people however for electing Obama the first time. He did sound soooooo good on so many issues and and I was hopeful that he would follow through. He didn't. It was all lies.

The fact that the American people re-elected him in 2012, though, is scary. We really have become a nation of gullible idiots.
Sort of. The republicans were attacking the gays.. so they lost the gay sympathetic vote. The republicans that ran for president in the in the last two were both past retirement age, and both heavy handed authoritarians that said yes to more socialist programs than they said no to. I would not call them conservative alternatives. So you had a choice to vote for a democrat with a republican hat on that hates gays, single women, and the 51% or a democrat who the republicans in the house will block on nearly every issue.

your characterization applies to McCain, but not to Romney. McCain would have been obama in combat boots, Romney would have been a very good president.

Obama is incorrigible.

He has heard the stories of the harm the ACA has already done. The people who are having to spend their life savings or sell their cars to pay for their new insurance requirements if they can even afford them after that.

But his new lie is:

"we are making the insurance market better for everyone"

He just can't help himself.

It is insulting and sad. Sad for the people facing immediate consequences. Sad for the nation which enables this pathological behavior.

You say that as though there weren't horror stories before ObamaCare. :eusa_boohoo: The people who lost everything just to pay for healthcare ... the people who died because they couldn't afford it. When it comes to healthcare -- there are always going to be horror stories no matter what the policies are.

People die and there's not enough money in the world to save any of us from that fact. We can only postpone death in some circumstances, and in many cases the cost is very high. Folks would like to believe everyone should be saved no matter the cost. Ok, who wants to give up all of their worldly possessions first so we can all figure out where best to distribute your money to save the most number of people.

Wake the fuck up America. Vote Republican or independent and insist that this disaster gets overturned.

Yeah, cause Republicans don't lie ... :eusa_shifty:

all politicians lie to get elected.

But this is a little different.

During the 2012 campaign, republicans campaigned on repealing the law claiming Americans will find that they will be forced off their policies. This was a good tactic because it was hitting home to many Americans and the Obama campaign had to respond.

So they went for broke. They outright lied by saying:
(paraphrased)

'the GOp is lying to you. Do not believe them. If you like your policy, you can keep your policy'

So he did not just lie by making promises. He did not just lie by calling his opponent a liar.

He lied about the ramifications of a law he PASSED already...all in an effort to make sure no one would be elected to repeal it.

This is all you need to know about the dishonesty and propaganda being spewed by this administration:

For the record, the President has consistently said that if you like your insurance plan, your doctor, or both, you will be able to keep them. He has even proposed eight consumer protections relating specifically to the health insurance industry.

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to [email protected].

Wow. Good catch.

That link to the White House is great. Facts are stubborn things - In their own words.

Perhaps. Perhaps not. Based on his record, not so much. Based on his attack on gays, not for my gay brother in law. Based on his stated views of the bottom income earners, not for those folks either. Based on his capitulation to socialism in his home state, not so much. Based on his authoritarian war hawk views... definitely not.

opinions are like assholes---------------------

sadly we will never know who is right about the kind of president that Romney would have been.

I'm not even talking about death ... just healthcare in general. There were already massive problems with it and no shortage of horror stories.

The new horror stories are completely different. They were deliberately inflicted by this lying president on responsible citizens who had been playing by the rules and adjusting their lifestyles to afford insurance which met their needs.

Democrats had a chance to address things in a manner which would have brought moderate Republicans on board and earned the accolades of independents. Instead they chose an overreaching route which they could only achieve by deception and parliamentary tricks, in spite of a groundswell of opposition sweeping the nation.

At great cost to the democratic principles of this country, and at great financial cost. How much will it now cost to fix what they've done? And will the fixes be too late to save the lives, life savings and jobs of the people they have harmed?

And when that proves to be a lie, there will be another IF.

Don't forget, the goal is single payer system.
Lies will continue until every one of us is forced out of employer based insurance.

I hear it's going to be at gunpoint...watch out from dem black choppers...

I heard number of times that if you like your insurance you can keep it.
Suddenly millions will not be able to keep their insurances.

When people who lose it stops complaining, government will change insurance standards again and keep doing it until everyone is on government exchanges.

I was hoping it would be a gunpoint...like has been predicted here.

Democrate KNEW that millions of people were going to lose their insurance and that many times more than that amount would face much higher costs for WORSE coverage.

And they lied so that Obama would be reelected and they could complete the scheme to destroy private health care in the U.S. and substitute a Government Health Rationing Monopoly.

Obviously he's in full blown damage control mode; he lied remember. I was watching CNN show tapes of his statements...had to giggle.

But the fact is that unless you're buying insurance on your own, you will never be in the exchange marketplace. Our system has been set up to get it though your employer so most Americans won't ever have to worry about the exchanges.

when your employer stops providing insurance because its cost will put him out of business, you will be in the exchange.

when your employer raises the cost of your portion of insurance premiums, you will be financially impacted by ACA.

this terrible law will hurt virtually every american-----except congress since they voted to increase their taxpayer funded subsidy.

It has hurt EVERY American. The percentages financially affected by this plan have yet to be measured.

The damage to EVERY American came when Democrats lied shamelessly to get the legislation passed and the media didn't hold them accountable. How much more damage has been done because the administration realized the media probably wouldn't scrutinize what they did? The ends do not justify the means. Obama and company have shaken the integrity of our government to the core.

Life will never be the same; people used to love their government so much. Ask Terry Nicholls.

You know HOW I know we have become a nation of gullible idiots?

Just look over this thread.

1. You have those who continue to make excuses for and who exalt Barack Obama and will not acknowledge that he deliberately lied to and misled the American people.

2. You have those who are absolutely unable to see the fiasco that Obamacare is and desperately force themselves to believe that it was worse before.

3. You have those who are unable to distinguish between Republicans and the Tea Party or are using that scam as a means to derail the thread.

4. You have those who are so ignorant as to the facts that they will pretty much parrot anything they are told to accept as gospel.

Whatever happened to critical thinking, rational logic, and testing the spirits that were once the hallmark of a free people?

According to "candycorn", she's part of Barry's administration and when she speaks, it's the same as Barry speak.

Right cancycorn? :eusa_whistle:

The president is ultimately responsible for what his officials say. Now if you're talking about General McChrystal (sp) there are limits to that--he fired Stanley so there is a disavowance factor but if he doesn't correct his subordinates, the president is endorsing what they said by silence.

Thats the way it's always been; he gets the credit for what happens and he gets the blame as well.

Amazingly...when his military killed OBL he got no credit for that but when his HHS screwed up the roll out of the ACA...he got full credit for that

It's comical.

True, nobody serious was giving him credit for killing OBL, so he decided to credit himself for that.
His whole re-election campaign was running around it.

332-206...GM is alive, Bin Laden is dead. Thanks for letting me bring that back up...:eusa_shhh:

He deserves the credit for that and the blame for the slow roll out of the ACA website.
You guys just like to change the rules when it doesn't benefit you.

The left is completely delusional. My employers has slahsed over 3/4's of their employees' hours--something that is happening at countless businesses. Hundreds of thousands are getting their insurance cancelled. Obama's at a 51% disapproval rate, and you think there isn't going to be any consequences for the people that caused this mess? :eusa_eh:

Consequences? I doubt Obama will win in 2016. And I think the GOP will do very well in 2014.

As for Hillary's chances, look, I'm on record as saying if the Dems nominate her or Biden, they are giong to be giving the GOP a big fat present...you can't run against the previous administration when you were part of it. And Obama's record of slow and steady improvement isn't the stuff Americas are used to re-electing.

I put that little "when Hillary takes over" because of 2 things; it rattles the cages of the neaderthals and because she may win if the GOP can't figure out how to stop digging their own grave. Given the Boehner shutdown and the knuckle draggers here...I think she has a good chance of winning in spite of Obama's lack-luster record.

The GOP wanted a one year delay to the individual mandate, as does 75% of Americans and many Democrats. The DNC was so against the idea that they let the government be shut down rather than negotiate.

Stop acting like it was cataclysmic--it was less than 15% of the government. I know you are going to pull some number out and say it 'cost the government blah blah blah because of the shut down'. In one month the government debt jumped over $400 billion and those that are making these claims don't give a damn.

Despite the efforts of this administration to "make the shutdown as painful as possible", and a willing media that dutifully parrotted DNC talking points--the government shutdown did not impact average Americans.

You poor victim.

The Boehner shutdown costs about $24B according to multiple estimates.

This is all by design. Public Education and the Reactionary Liberal College Experience are designed to brainwash children and turn them into Gullible Permanent Adolescents.

And ObamaCare will cost $Ts. I'd ask you to do the math, but I doubt you can perform simple arithmetic.
