Obama's scandals continue to pile up

Bush never had a streak of scandals! if this had been any other President, he would been fired by now! Christ, even when Bush made a few mistakes, all they did was throw shoes at him.

" We don’t think government can do everything. We don’t think that top-down solutions are the right way to go. We believe in the free market. We believe in a light touch when it comes to regulations. We don’t want to tax all businesses out of business. But we do think that there’s a role to play for government.”

we were partying during the Bush years! money and credit was always there for us! then the Liberals crashed the economy on purpose in 2008. Thanks a lot for destroying 100 million lives!

shoes are nothing, don't forget Bush had a hand grenade thrown at him and the liarberals went insane with glee, they all nearly in unison wet their pants

"A government that requires “integrity provisions” is by definition past the stage where they will do any good.....If you don’t instinctively know it’s wrong to stay in $3,500-a-night hotel rooms at public expense, a revised conference-accommodations-guidelines manual isn’t going to fix the real problem....What happens then when an ambitious government understands it can yoke that corruption to its political needs? What’s striking as the revelations multiply and metastasize is that at no point does any IRS official appear to have raised objections. If any of them understood that what they were doing was wrong, they kept it to themselves. When Nixon tried to sic the IRS on a few powerful political enemies, the IRS told him to take a hike. When Obama’s courtiers tried to sic the IRS on thousands of ordinary American citizens, the agency went along, and very enthusiastically. This is a scale of depravity hitherto unknown to the tax authorities of the United States, and for that reason alone they should be disarmed and disbanded — and rebuilt from scratch with far more circumscribed powers.",

When did common sense go out the window to the point where a lot of people do not see the obvious, or do, but don't care?

Obama: Wounded … and Dangerous

June 7, 2013 By Caroline Glick

US Secretary of State John Kerry looks like a bit of an idiot these days. On Monday he announced that he will be returning to Israel and the Palestinian Authority and Jordan for the fifth time since he was sworn into office on February 1. That is an average of more than one visit a month.

And aside from frequent flier miles, the only thing he has to show for it is a big black eye from PLO chief and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

When Kerry was here last month he unveiled a stunning plan to bring $4 billion in investment funds to the PA. If his plan actually pans out, its champions claim it will increase the PA’s GDP by a mind-numbing 50 percent in three years and drop Palestinian unemployment from 21 to 8 percent.

Standing before world and regional leaders on May 26, Kerry said plaintively, “This will help build the future. Is this a fantasy? I don’t think so.”

Abbas and his underlings wasted no time, however, in demonstrating that indeed, Kerry’s plan is fantasy. Abbas appointed Rami Hamdallah, a Fatah apparatchik with perfect English, to replace America’s favorite moderate Palestinian, Salam Fayyad, as PA prime minister.

and remember that phony acting event when Barry went to Israel with Benjamin (I think it was him) I think Barry went to this memorial/historical sight where he had to pretend that he loved Jewish People.
Yah, as if the more intelligent Americans actually fell for that routine. Just like when he went to Germany to make that boring speech, and till this day, no one knew what the speech was about. it was as if Barry was running for President of Germany.

The Totalitarianism at the Heart of the Obama Scandals

June 10, 2013 By Mark Tapson

The Obama administration’s legs are wobbling under the weight of so many scandals lately that whole chunks of the edifice – the IRS, the NSA, the DOJ – are threatening to implode, particularly without support from the normally adoring media. Even the New York Times – the New York Times! – is no longer willing to bolster an administration whose totalitarian urges have been exposed to the light.

Let’s begin with the Internal Revenue Service’s thuggish targeting of conservative groups. From April 2010 to April 2012, the IRS placed on hold the processing of applications for tax-exempt status received from organizations with such presumably conservative indicators as “Tea Party,” “patriots,” or “9/12” in their names, approving only four while green-lighting applications from several dozen organizations whose names included the likely left-leaning terms “progressive,” “progress,” “liberal,” or “equality.” It demanded from some conservative organizations unwieldy amounts of documentation and private information, such as what books their members were reading or what they had posted on social networking sites. The Coalition for Life of Iowa was actually asked to detail the content of their prayers at meetings. The Cincinnati office of the IRS leaked confidential donor information from some conservative applications to an investigative reporting organization. Even some conservative individuals are now alleging that they were personally targeted by the IRS for political reasons. Mark Steyn correctly labeled this abuse “a scale of depravity hitherto unknown to the tax authorities of the United States.”

...

From Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s obsession with eliminating choice from the lives of New Yorkers, to the IRS punishing people for their politics, “liberals” have a very illiberal compulsion to control every aspect of your existence, not too dissimilar from the way in which sharia dictates every aspect of a fundamentalist Muslim’s life. Our side needs to be as conscious of the power of language as the left has been for the past several decades. Terminology matters. The left is not liberal, it’s totalitarian, and it’s time we call it like it is and do so relentlessly.

The Greatest Scandal of Them All

June 11, 2013 By David Solway

We have been reading of late of the blizzard of scandals that has buffeted the Obama administration. Every week or so a major storm wracks the political climate in the U.S., so much so that it is hard not to grow somewhat blasé. Whether it’s the odium of the Benghazi betrayal and ensuing cover-up; or the IRS training its sights on conservative and pro-Israeli organizations; or the DOJ seizing the phone records of News sources; or the Attorney General caught lying (or conveniently forgetting) about a subpoena against a FOX News reporter; or NSA snooping on Verizon customers under a court order granted in April, as if replicating thriller novelist Brad Thor’s grisly tale about internal espionage, Black List; or a follow-up spy program code-named PRISM, expanding an operation begun under George W. Bush that was relatively measured, judicially redrawn and discontinued in 2007, but now, in the words of Matthew Vadum; “a warrantless surveillance program on steroids”—the time comes when we expect nothing less of a meretricious administration.

The scandals go back years: the Affordable Health Care Act passed in the middle of the night and encrypted in thousands of pages that nobody seems to have read; a multi-billion dollar stimulus project that didn’t stimulate anything; the defrauding of Chrysler’s secured creditors in favor of the UAW when the auto company went bankrupt; the Fast and Furious gun-running plan yet to be clarified by the Attorney General; the loans and grants to crony Green entrepreneurs who regularly fail to meet their goals and end up in default; the numbing disgrace of a Muslim outreach scheme that has seen known terrorists and dubious Islamic groups and individuals welcomed at the White House and operating to influence policy at the highest levels of government. The net result is always the same: a modest degree of public indignation followed by business as usual. Sarah Palin is on the money when she laments that “Obama supporters…naively and blindly (despite failure after failure and scandal after scandal) continue to give him the benefit of the doubt.” After all, this may be a scandal-prone administration, there have been others, let’s move on.

...

There should be no doubt about this in any rational mind. The various scandals plaguing the current administration are distractions. Poor decision making is a common trait—Eisenhower’s self-admitted mishandling of the Suez Crisis, Kennedy’s Bay of Pigs, Carter’s support of the Iranian Shia revolution, and so on. What we are observing now is different by an order of magnitude, a kind of logarithmic spike on the scandal scale. There is a catastrophe afflicting the U.S. and it is summed up and embodied in the person of Barack Obama—his election to the Oval Office, the policies he has subsequently enacted, the vectors of his character on daily display, the progressively devastating consequences of his tenure. “Let us make no mistake about this,” as the president is fond of saying. The greatest scandal of them all is the present occupant of the White House.

Obama Scandal Central

By Lara Brown
June 12, 2013

With the revelations of another new and potentially serious scandal, Obama's presidency becomes more Grant than Lincoln each day.

Not Fitzgerald Grant's fictional presidency of television series "Scandal" fame, for it abounds with adept fixers, perceptive optics, heroic motives and clever dialogue. I mean Ulysses S. Grant's scandal-plagued presidency, which was replete with clumsy denials, regretful dismissals, base enticements and desperate political ploys.

The shocking scandals of the mid-1870s – from the Whiskey Ring's tax evasion and bribery of administrative officials to secretary of War William Belknap and his wife's patronage kickbacks – consumed Grant's second term. The investigations reached as high as the president's personal secretary (Orville Babcock) and prevented Grant from focusing on the two major issues severely undermining the state of the newly reunited union: a weak economy and worsening race relations in the South.

Obama Scandals Hearken Back to Ulysses S. Grant - Lara Brown (usnews.com)

I was watching The Five today on Fox and was struck by how beaten down Bob Beckel looked. He spent most of the show staring down at his lap and muttering. All I could think of was whatever they're paying him to hold up the liberal end of the discussion isn't CLOSE to being enough. Him trying to defend the Obama Administration lately has been like someone trying to hold back the tide. There's just too much water coming his way and he's got nothing to stop it with.

In the midst of scandal, it seems yet another potential blemish may be forming on the U.S. government’s management of internal affairs. A CBS News report claims that recently-uncovered documents show that high-ranking State Department officials may have covered up staffers’ illegal and inappropriate behavior. Included in this purported behavior are both prostitution and drug abuse claims.

At its heart, the scandal involves the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), the body responsible for protecting the secretary of state and U.S. ambassadors who are serving in foreign countries. The DSS is also tasked with overseeing investigations into misconduct of State Department employees, CBS reports.

The outlet has more about the latest potential scandal to make headlines:

CBS News’ John Miller reports that according to an internal State Department Inspector General’s memo, several recent investigations were influenced, manipulated, or simply called off. The memo obtained by CBS News cited eight specific examples. Among them: allegations that a State Department security official in Beirut “engaged in sexual assaults” on foreign nationals hired as embassy guards and the charge and that members of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s security detail “engaged prostitutes while on official trips in foreign countries” — a problem the report says was “endemic.”

The memo also reveals details about an “underground drug ring” [that] was operating near the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and supplied State Department security contractors with drugs.

Aurelia Fedenisn, a former investigator with the State Department’s internal watchdog agency, the Inspector General, told Miller, “We also uncovered several allegations of criminal wrongdoing in cases, some of which never became cases.”

The Inspector General’s office was apparently told by DSS agents that senior State Department officials wanted them to ignore or back away from specific cases. If this is the case, it is likely that many will alleged a cover-up was underway. Fedenisn called the level of purported pressure and influence from higher-ups “very disturbing.”
