Supreme Court strikes down voter registration laws - Illegals win again.

The federal government has legislation which deals with federal elections. This is a power granted to the federal government by the US Constitution.

As such, the federal law outlines the requirements for registering to vote in a federal election.

Arizona attempted to place extra burdens on top of that federal process.

They clearly stepped outside their authority.

You can register to vote when you renew your license. I have shown the Arizona laws for getting a license require proof of citizenship. So when you renew your license, you have already established your citizenship.

Arizona was also requiring people to provide proof of citizenship when registering to vote by mail. This oversteps their authority in federal elections, and so some Indian (i.e., Native American) tribal members took them to court. Which is yet another reason all this bellyaching about ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS is so hilarious!

That has nothing to do with this Supreme Court decision. This Supreme Court decision removed an unnecessary burden that was being placed on US citizens. The Arizona law had no effect on illegals. It DID have a burdensome effect on citizens.
