The Republican/Conservative Misery Offensive.

No question they do seem to be especially frumpy-bitter lately.

But let's stop pretending 2014 is in play. It's a mid-term and the party not in the WH always wins the mid-term. The only question is by how much.

Unless they collapse of course.

What will put 2014 in play for the Democrats is the upcoming default in February. Yes, you and I both know they ARE that stupid.

not raising the debt ceiling DOES NOT equal default. The USA will not default on its debt.

other govt programs may (and should) be cut. But the debt will be serviced.

Claiming an upcoming default is a democrat LIE

There are a few problems with California and a lot of them has to do with the "propositions" and "services". And by services I am referring to the prison system. The "three strikes" law is ridiculous and costly..along with capping property tax.

Californians enjoy many other services too which are largely unfunded.

Saving money by keeping repeat criminals on the streets, that's the first thing you point to as a costly "service" to eliminate?

Do you realize the cost of the crimes they commit is also "unfunded?"

When you toss a petty criminal in jail for life instead of trying to get him back on track..

It's pretty costly. And stupid.

It's a "lie" to everyone that lives in a realm outside of a little thing I like to call "reality".

The Tea Party Shennigans cost this country ALOT of money. And nearly royally screwed this country economically. Right now they are just screwing this country economically and every other way..

It's the "three" strikes law, not the "one" strike law, so apparently the "petty" criminal isn't so interested in taking their chances to get back on track

You kind of miss the whole point, don't ya?

Keeping someone in jail is very costly. Not only because of up front costs, but because training that individual and getting them on the right path pays back big. Both in terms of taxes and service to the community.

the 3 strike law to me is bullshit.....if a person commits a violent crime he should do a long sentence to begin with..20-25 years and you serve every minute of it.... a second violent crime....40-50 years ....he should not be given the chance for a third....zero tolerance for people who commit violence against other people in the course of committing a crime ....

.

Dude.

Most of your posts are about god, country, small government and guns.

Sometime you throw in a "Obama is supporting Terrorists" overseas or some other nonsense like that.

If it walks like a duck..

Doooood, are you on PCP.

I am a atheist.

Please free to provide a link to where I praise god.

Unless by a god you mean Jessica Biel

You kind of missed the whole point, didn't ya? Actually both of them.

Criminals being on the street is very costly. It's not a savings to have them out committing crimes. And the second one points out that "three" strikes means they don't seem to be too committed to getting "on the right path." They committed a crime and got convicted, they committed another crime and got convicted, then they ... wait for it ... committed another crime and got convicted. So you saying that "if" they decided to fly right the fourth time may be true, but isn't highly likely and they are probably going to be back on the street committing more crime.

You basically come at this thinking that people in bad situations are evil.

As do most conservatives.

You believe that god or who ever blesses those he favors with riches and damns those he hates with poverty.

It's okay..that's your mindset.

That's the point of this thread. To point on the differences between us.

And why you folks really have no claim to the formation of this country nor any interest in it's upkeep.

What you want is a return to what we initially fought against.

Yeah yeah yeah, Harry. I remember a Star Trek the next generation episode where the punishment for every infraction was death.

You folks are ridiculous..seriously.

Most people in jail doing long sentences aren't there for violent crimes.

The fact remains that the OP is a Lie when the misery index clearly shows that things have been more miserable under Obama than Bush.

Put it will not stop the far left posters here from believing any and everything the far left machines puts out.

Wrong that is a far left trait, but your far left programming won't let you see it.

Looking at a thread that starts off with, "The glaring evidence that Obamacare is a catastrophic FAILURE continues to mount".

To me, it's a matter of perspective. To me, pissing away trillions on Tax Cuts where the money might even have been used to move jobs to China was a catastrophic failure and the first salvo in the misery offensive. The trillions lost in Iraq and the tens of thousands of maimed and dead. Second salvo in the "misery offensive". The nearly two thousand dead from neglect after Katrina.

Then all the minor skirmishes. Blocked jobs bills, 24 billion lost from a government shutdown, the downgrade and so on.

Republicans are going to pay for what they've done. Eventually.

More far left propaganda!

Propaganda is based on a lie. Iraq and Katrina are based on the number dead and maimed.

Yup.

"If you like your plan you can keep it.
Period."

Seriously Harry..

Do you know what you are talking about?

Most people, and it's probably a good 80%, aren't there because they did something violent.

Many are there simply because they did drugs. Or stole something to get drugs.

But for the most part, they are there because they are poor.

Okay.

What's your plan to lift people out of poverty?

:cuckoo: What are you talking about? I think repeat offenders are likely to continue to commit crimes. I'll leave the judging them up to you since that's apparently your gig. You made a financial argument that letting them out of jail to commit a fourth crime saves money. The recidivism rates of three time convicted offenders (statistically if they were convicted three times they committed many times that) is incredibly high on the street. It's zero if they're in jail.

As do most conservatives.
I'm not a conservative, I'm a libertarian. With the number of times we've posted in the same threads, you're just showing again what a dumb ass you are.

You believe that god or who ever blesses those he favors with riches and damns those he hates with poverty.
You snort a lot of coke, don't you? What does that have to do with your financial argument? BTW, dumb ass, I'm not even a christian.
