Funny how the GOP has been in charge of cutting taxes on the rich and giant corporations and investment in education and everything else the last 35 years....

DSA Sings the Internationale 2017

Because our capitalism is broken. Workers have few rights. We have many near monopolies, wage collusion, non compete agreements... the government is bought by corporations, look at all the money in politics...
Every goddamn thing you point to as a problem is cause SOLELY by government.

If you and those like you would stop jacking off to government at every turn, and giving government more power than the people, we wouldn't have those problems.

1. Workers have few rights -- because they have fewer options because government has failed to do its job at the border and in enforcement of illegal employment. Also, because government has had too much power that big employers have tapped to keep the job market flooded so they can skimp on wages. In each case, too much government power being used to the benefit of a few is the problem.

2. Too many monopolies - because they use their money and influence to regulate the fuck out of the industry to the point that only the monopoly holders can comply and still turn a profit. Again, government is the problem, having too much power that these "haves" can exploit and stifle competition.

3. Wage Collusion - I still believe this is a fuck unicorn or a smurf fart (not real). But, even if it were real, the only reason competing employers would enter such an agreement or "collusion" is because they can....because the market is flooded (illegals).

4. Non-compete agreements - so limited in their enforceable that they are practically useless unless they are restricted to a particular geographic area. I know. I have busted a few of them. Still, they are AGREEMENTS, rather than something forced on anyone.

5. Government bought by corporations - because government has too much power to be had. If government didn't have so much fucking power, there would be no need.

So, in sum.

To Government: the cause of....aaaaand solution to.....all of life's problems.

Especially to the young?

Why are the young so enamored with Socialism/Communism/Liberalism?
It may not be what seems to be the answer, free stuff.

The Answer may be something inherent to the human condition: a desire to be unique, and independent, and to make your own rules, and not have to answer to anyone else.

1.When Albert Camus wrote “The Rebel,” he put his finger on an aspect of human nature that most of us have, more so as youth, but, still, throughout our lives. We yearn to stand out, to be different, …we see it when the prettiest girl runs off with the ‘bad boy,’ or when the wild haired radical is the one everyone is talking about. True, family, and the desire for success often smooths the edges off, moderates how ‘different’ one chooses to be, and sometimes, later on, when we’ve given up most of that rebellion, we might come to resent those who actually carry it off…..but in our youth, we have it.

It’s all about the degree and desire to rebel.

2. Freud claimed he could document and explain that need to rebel, relating it to a biological phenomenon…. “The Rebel Instinct: How Each Generation's Need To Out-Rebel The Previous Generation Is Pushing Society To Wild Extremes” The Rebel Instinct: How Each Generation's Need To Out-Rebel The Previous Generation Is Pushing Society To Wild Extremes

But whether it is psychological or biological…….it appears, most significantly, to be political.

3. A tip of the hat to Freud: there is no disputing the desire to stop taking orders from parents. OK. But it grows, in many, to the desire to not have to show respect, take orders from, or to mirror the style and tradition of an older, more successful generation. Perhaps the claim that socialists/communists are all about greed, to take from the successful without the work that went into that success...’You didn’t build that!’ …isn’t just to get the material things…

........it’s the psychological reward of rebellion.

Perhaps the rebel wants to gain that success by a different path, one that doesn’t require looking like, sounding like, and behaving like, our elders, that explains the 50% of Democrats who are socialists. Enter Bernie Sanders, stage Left.

Now…..get this, the fly in their ointment:

The problem for those rebels is that they have given up the intellect and the education that reveals what Socialism, Communism, Progressivism produces for societies, always:

....serfs, slaves….or corpses.

The answer is easy: almost everybody likes "free" shit.

As for why the younger generations find it so appealing... you're talking about a generation where everyone got a trophy, everyone was special, everyone was equal, everyone passed, they were never "wrong," and no one had to work for what they got. They've been groomed for it...

My OP is nothing short of brilliant: it make a strong argument that explains why socialism is so popular among the young.

You should read beyond the title.

I did. You're over thinking it.

I’m beginning to think we should just put all Bernie supporters in prison. After all, prison is really a “socialist” system. They get free food, shelter, and health services, all paid for by the “rich” taxpayers. They won’t even have to work. Just imagine how well off the country would be with all of them separated from society, even if we had to pay taxes to keep their “community” secured.
Everything Sanders talks about has already been done in every other modern rich country. Canada New Zealand Australia all have a living wage healthcare daycare paid parental leave cheap college and training great infrastructure and vacations. And mainly they tax their rich and giant corporations their fair share. You people are brainwashed functional moron chumps of the greedy idiot GOP billionaires.... Mainly Rupert Murdoch because only media owned by him spews the crap you love.... IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!. Dumbasses.....

All those countries are white, with very few minorities on welfare. A little fact you morons never compute.
Which has nothing to do with anything except for racist brainwashed functional morons.

Funny, you liberals are always saying how you want us to be more like these Euro and white colonial countries, and never do you say we need to be more like a Latin America country, or an African one.

Maybe it’s you that is racist?

The worst is Washington DC. Want to take a guess why?

FDR suggested asking ‘at whose expense?’

yes!! And according Obama/Sanders libcommies it's not really at the expense of people who earned the money since they really didn't built that or earn that money. They merely acquired it through the unfair capitalist system, and so their wealth can be taken and gunpoint for redistribution.

In all respect to you and your post, you're nuts.

Oh, no. Don't say that. You may be deemed a racist.

For whatever reason--years of oppression, etc.--it is established to a CONCLUSIVE degree racial demographics is the single greatest factor.

Ass wipes saying "red" states are the poorest are overlooking a HUGE factor.

Capitalism

Keynesianism is more accurate. And full blown socialism is actually the next logical step following Keynesianism.

If you say free market and capitalism together, we don't have that. We have a controlled economy. We have central economic planning by a central bank. We have inflationism. We have a belief in deficit finance. And a welfare state. There's nothing free-market about that.

People on both sides of the fake left/right paradigm are guilty of referencing this economic system/monetary policy as free-market capitalism when it's actually nothing of the sort.

75 Ways Socialism Has Improved America

You couldn't be more wrong.
You could attempt to be, but you would not be successful.

America is not a socialist nation, it is a capitalist nation.

Capitalism provides the funds for welfare programs.

This is the definition of socialism:
“ any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

a: a system of society or group living in which there is no private property

b: a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state Definition of SOCIALISM

Not radical???? Representative of core American values???

Not in the slightest. These are the core values of America: individualism, free markets, and limited constitutional government.

For context, and before some Lefty loon claims that it’s that sort of thing in Scandinavia…the imagined socialist Utopia….

Myth: Socialism works spectacularly in Nordic countries.

The problem here is the equating socialist redistribution programs, with socialist economies. The Scandinavian nations are not socialist economies; Denmark has a freer economy than does the USA. Higher tax rates to support the redistributionist part, but far less business regulation than America.

“Speaking at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, Danish PM Lars Løkke Rasmussen told students that he had “absolutely no wish to interfere the presidential debate in the US” but nonetheless attempted to set the record straight about his country.

"I know that some people in the US associate the Nordic model with some sort of socialism. Therefore I would like to make one thing clear. Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy. Denmark is a market economy,” Rasmussen said.

“The Nordic model is an expanded welfare state which provides a high level of security for its citizens, but it is also a successful market economy with much freedom to pursue your dreams and live your life as you wish,” he added.

The PM’s comments come after US presidential hopefuls Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton used part of the first Democratic debate to discuss how the United States could emulate Scandinavia.” Danish PM in US: Denmark is not socialist

The problem for those rebels is that they have given up the intellect and the education that reveals what Socialism, Communism, Progressivism produces for societies, always:

....serfs, slaves….or corpses.

America is surrounded by socialism. It makes our lives better.

Communism is a dictatorship socialism is democratic. The most confused definition of all time. At any rate Sanders and socialism in the modern world is simply ALWAYS DEMOCRATIC FAIR CAPITALISM WITH A GOOD SAFETY NET. the guy in Denmark is an idiot.
