It's when some nasty old lesbian in a habit was telling us about Noah's flood, and how God drowned everyone because they were "Wicked". And I asked the simple question why did God drown all the babies? "They were WIIIIIIIIICKED" Sister Mary Butch screamed.
It's then I realized religion was pretty fu cked up, although I didn't become an atheist until later.
So.... not trying to 'confront you', by all means remain whatever you are. But just out curiosity... where do you think all the evil in the world comes from? Why do kids lie? Do you think that every single toddler on the planet is intentionally taught by their parents to be selfish, lie, steal, and hit people?

The problem is, I don't think in terms of evil. Most of us are a combination of smart and dumb, good and bad, selfish and giving, depending on circumstances. We should do things on the basis of how they effect us and other people, not because some magic fairy in the sky said something was bad.
The thing was, the bible taught for centuries that slavery was good and burning witches was the right thing to do.

Tell me, if your wife was attacking you with a knife, and sleep with other men, in your own house, even in your own bad..... you may still love her, but would you just accept that and forgive without condition?
Love requires conditions. Otherwise it isn't love. If your brother is on crack, and all you do is give him money to buy more crack, that's not loving, you are aiding in trying to kill him.

I've never understood why people try and blame G-d for their own choices. Like my roommate who would eat two chocolate cakes (literally), and then a year later cry and weep that they have diabetes, and how did G-d let that happen.
