Schumer warns that the Senate will vote on changes to the chamber’s rules by Jan. 17 unless Republicans get out of the way on elections reform

In three years the Republicans can then just as easily change them back. The way to deal with this is the courts.

And burning things down if need be.

Oh, and lastly, nominating decent people that the electorate can actually support.
Right, so what does Schumer lose? Nothing! With 400 voter suppression bills on the books to cheat millions out of free and fair elections, then there's nothing lost.

If Republicans are in power, everyone knows what they want to do. Just as you say, "burn things down." You and the party have become so mentally insane about a free election that you lost, that you are willing to destroy the country, just like you tried on January 6th. The Left understands this 100%. So, here's the problem. Once you do that, it won't just be Democrats who get burned down. And I don't think you see that picture yet. But in order to destroy a Republic in favor of authoritarian rule, you need to understand one thing. A civil war would in fact break out. People aren't just going to role over and surrender their constitutional rights for authoritarian dictators and fixed elections, that the Right is so easily embracing.

Nah, sorry, go pound sand. Nobody has to make that case. The frauds pushing the laws have to make the case why we need them.

Which they cannot do without lying their asses off. Not that you care. You know exactly why they want the new laws, and you support what they are doing. Not sure who you think you are fooling...
The talking points your handlers fed you sure fell apart fast. :auiqs.jpg:

There were over a thousand complaints and allegations of wrong-doing in the 2020 elections,
Yes, the idiotically stupid pile of incredible, retarded claims that got the lawyers who presented them to the court sanctioned.

What a f****** joke. I stopped right there. Dude, grow up and realize that you have been embarrassed.

These restrictive voter laws were produced by those on the Right, not the Left. Again, as I stated before, no one on the Right has the capacity to challenge these bills as being nothing more than restricting one's right to vote. Buddy, you don't have the where with all to lock horns with me on this matter. The truth is looking us square in the eyeballs.

Remember, the link is the Brennan Center. The Bills are from Republican legislators. Nice try, but you lose. You can't win this debate. You don't have anything to fight with.

We read your Dimtard opinion piece, Dipshit.

Get some facts.

Then let them. Let them pay the price politically, too.
I mean, just look at how shallow minded their argument is. They threaten Schumer and Democrats with what? Something they were already trying to do against Schumer and the Democrats anyway. :auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg:Get it? They can't threaten what has already been threatened with legislative action, by way of 400 voter suppression bills. Are they that goddamn stupid to think no one knows that?

AS I understand it, the democrats can use a procedure called the 'nuclear option', wherein they can change or bypass existing Senate rules with a simple 50+1 vote, as Harry Reid did in 2013 when he used it to allow a cloture vote for Senate confirmations of federal judges and executive branch positions to need only 50+1 votes instead of 60.

And they will use it if necessary. The survival of this country depends on free and fair elections.

Republicans need to be careful with this. The last thing they want is a Democratic senate making carve outs to the filibuster rule in order to pass legislation they want, but still leaving the filibuster in tact to be used against the Republicans next time they are in power.

I say if they want the filibuster gone, then vote it out, permanently.

Everything on this list of bills by the cheating Trump cultists, has one thing in common. Making it harder to vote. And why would they do that? TAKE A WILD FUCKING GUESS.

Already won it. See post 242 where I show what the bill actually states compared to what you claim it states.

Funny thing - the Left has been bitching about voter suppression for many years. Consider:

It’s a false narrative belied by the facts, such as the relatively high levels of turnout in a non-presidential year in 2018 in many states, including in Georgia, or the numerous studies that have concluded that voter ID laws are a commonsense reform that does not keep voters out of the voting booth.

One of those studies, released by the National Bureau of Economic Research in 2019, examined 10 years’ worth of turnout data from across the country and concluded that voter ID laws have “no negative effect on registration or turnout overall or for any specific group defined by race, gender, age, or party affiliation.”

ALSO

There is no suppression going on of anyone’s votes anywhere in the country. Anyone who says otherwise is just making it up.

The Census Bureau’s recent release of its 2020 election survey of voters clearly demonstrates that those who have been claiming, without justification or evidence, that we have been experiencing a wave of so-called "voter suppression" have a lot of explaining to do.

Among those making such claims: Vice President Kamala Harris, Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta, U.S. Justice Department nominee Kristen Clark, former Attorney General Eric Holder, Stacey Abrams, and a host of leaders of leftwing organizations like the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and the NAACP, among others.

Instead, the Census Bureau reports that the turnout in last year’s election was 66.8% – just short of the record turnout of 67.7% of voting-age citizens for the 1992 election. It beat the turnout in President Obama’s first election, which was reported as 63.6% by the bureau.

Kamala Harris made that false claim about "voter suppression" in September last year when she was running for office. Yet the Census survey shows that there was higher turnout among all races in 2020 when compared to the 2016 election. Black Americans turned out at 63%, compared to 60% in 2016.

Vanita Gupta has repeatedly made the same dishonest claim about "voter suppression" and an "assault" on voting rights. But 59% of Asian Americans voted in 2020, a 10-percentage point increase from 2016 when 49% turned out to vote. Only 47% of Asian Americans voted in 2008 and 2012 when Obama ran for office and was reelected, including during a period when Gupta was in charge of the Civil Rights Division at Justice and was supposed to be protecting voting rights.

Kristen Clarke, the radical who has been nominated by Biden to head the Civil Rights Division, has also made the same deceptive claim about "voter suppression," including states that, she claims, are "making it harder to register to vote."

Really? Because the Census Bureau reports that voter registration in 2020 reached 72.7%, which is higher than the 70.3% who registered in 2016 after eight years of the Obama-Biden administration. Not only that, but voter registration in 2020 was higher than in the 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 elections.

IOW, all this voter suppression is pure political bullshit, which actually is typical coming from the Left.
