  1. Under Reagan, the debt went up $1.7 trillion, from $900 billion to $2.6 trillion.
  2. But….the national wealth went up $ 17 trillion
  3. Reagan's near-trillion-dollar bulge in defense spending transformed the global balance of power in favor of capitalism. Spurring a stock-market, energy, venture-capital, real-estate and employment boom, the Reagan tax-rate cuts and other pro-enterprise policies added some $17 trillion to America's private-sector assets, dwarfing the trillion-dollar rise in public-sector deficits and creating 45 million net new jobs at rising wages and salaries.

The creation by Congress in 1978 of the 401(k) tax-deferred retirement plan provided new incentives for workers to invest their savings in the stock market (often through mutual funds) rather than relying on company-funded pensions for retirement. No see the difference is you were bitching about that gap...QED are now showing you it happens....because rich people have more.money to invest

If you buy 1 share of Coca-Cola and someone else buys 100....if the price of the stock goes up $10.....who makes more?

So it is you that failed...we know why.....you just blame republican

There will be a wide span between Obama an Carter with Obama at the very bottom of the list...
Depends on whose list you are talking about. He is already atop the all time greats list of sane Americans.

Obama approval rating hits three-year high

2016 by the numbers: Obama's rising ratings a boon for Hillary Clinton?

Approval of Obama increased by four points among Democrats and Democratic leaners and by two points among Republicans and Republican leaners, as well as by eight points among the relatively small group of Americans who identify as independents with no partisan leanings.

Obama Rated Best in Hawaii in 2015, Worst in West Virginia

Then....why is the title of this thread so very painful to you?
I told you before, public stupidity bothers us.

I love the pretend "us" by the fearful who doubt their position so much that they make believe a whole gang is behind them.

Therapy might help....but growing a pair would do the trick.

The only worse mistake than electing Barack Obama is allowing Liberals to ever vote again.

You failed to mention this:

Baby boomers – made up of the large subset of Americans born between 1946 and 1964 – dominated the domestic labor market for years. But now that they're leaving the workforce en masse, their exodus has dragged (and will continue to drag) on the country's overall participation rate.

Millions of Baby Boomers are retiring. There are thousands of job vacancies as a result. There is no lack of opportunities for work there just isn't enough people to fill them.

You might disparage Obama for being president during this Baby Boomer retirement exodus from the workforce but don't get too TRUMPED UP by Trump. His xenophobic rhetoric has set a negative national tone for skilled immigrant labor participation.

Bt the retiring Baby Boomers are just part of the story. Other factors in the declining LFPR can be attributed to this: After bulging into the workplace in the 1970s, women are no longer the force in the labor market they once were. Younger people are opting to educate themselves rather than work. And, as I have already mentioned, a less-than-friendly tone toward immigrants is shrinking the supply for some high-skilled jobs..

I love it when you bring up the Original Democratic Party that was comprised of the Right while the Republican Party was Progressive. Yes, from 1845 to about 1940. At that point, due to FDR and the sitting congress inacting the Fair Deal Act, the conservatives joined the Republican Party (hijacked more like it) and the original Republicans could stomach being in the same room as them changed to the Democratic Party. Eisenhower was the last old time Progressive Republican. And for the next 10 years, the Progressive Democrats ruled the Presidency.

Actually a lot of conservatives moved south..my family did in the 90s..liberals and conservatives are in all areas.....Lyndon Johnson was no conservative
William Fullbright no conservative
Huey Long, not conservative
Roosevelt was from New York, that is a northern state?
Adelai Stephenson was from Illinois?
Kennedy from MAssachusettes?

Funny thing is these guys were all democrats, when they were denying civil rights to blacks..

Civil Rights Act of 1957 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

(Republicans 167–19 for, Democrats 118–107 for)[4] and the Senate 72 to 18 (Republicans 43–0 for, Democrats 29–18 for).[5] President Eisenhower signed it on September 9, 1957.

So 19 in the house and 0 in the senate voted no....So there were only 19 conservative republicans in the us government in 1957 and zero in the senate?

Oh God I loooove this topic.

So, you dont' know history, need to look that up.

BUT here is something, why did all the southern states still have legislatures and local governments solidly democratic until the 90s and 2000s if all the conservative southerners became republicans?

and Lyndon Johnson...holy shit...

I hope you're going to include woman's suffrage.....passed due to the efforts of Republicans over a Democrat filibuster.

And i hope you include Republican guru Ronald Reagan's war on women:

Wiping ERA Off Republican Agenda

Reagan began his assault on women even before he was elected. The Republicans had been the first major party to champion constitutional equality for women, putting the Equal Rights Amendment in their platform in 1940. Ronnie ended that. At his bidding, the ERA disappeared from the GOP platform at the 1980 convention that nominated him to be the party's standard-bearer.

But it didn't stop there:

Trapping Women in Poverty Wages

Reagan also publicly insulted single mothers raising children with the help of federal assistance by calling them "welfare queens," thus setting the stage for the dramatic retrenchment of aid to families headed by women. At the same time, Reagan refused to raise the minimum wage and instilled in the national psyche a belief that higher wages for the lowest level workers cost jobs. (This turned out to be a false assumption. While macroeconomic policy is always an unpredictable art, the eventual raising of the minimum wage in 1996--from $4.25 to $4.75--did not result in layoffs and apparently did not stand in the way of the 1990s boom.)

Then, as now, the largest group of minimum wage workers was adult women. Translation: more women and their children in poverty, more women holding two low-paying jobs to make ends meet and less food on the table, period. Well, all except catsup, which Reagan tried to have declared a vegetable as he cut school lunch programs.

Time to Bury Reagan’s Legacy for Women

Don't you know anything?????

· The 13th Amendment to abolish slavery was voted for by 100% of the Republicans in congress and by 23% of the Democrats in congress.

· Not one Democrat either in the House or the Senate voted for the 14th amendment declaring that former slaves were full citizens of the state in which they lived and were therefore entitled to all the rights and privileges of any other citizen in that state.

· Not a single one of the 56 Democrats in Congress voted for the 15th amendment that granted explicit voting rights to black Americans.

· In 1866 Democrats formed the Ku Klux Klan to pave the way for Democrats to regain control in the elections.

· George Wallace was a Democrat.

· Bull Connor was a Democrat.

· Jim Crow laws, poll taxes, grandfather clauses, Literacy tests, white only primaries, and physical violence all came from the Democratic Party.

· Between 1882 and 1964, 4,743 individuals were lynched. 3,446 blacks and 1,297 whites. Republicans often led the efforts to pass federal anti-lynching laws and Democrats successfully blocked those bills."
· Did You Know? | Frederick Douglass Republicans

Every anti-lynching bill.....blocked by Democrats.

Prior to 1957, LBJ “had never supported civil rights legislation- any civil rights legislation. In the Senate and House alike, his record was an unbroken one of votes against every civil rights bill that had ever come to a vote: against voting rights bills; against bills that would have struck at job discrimination and at segregation in other areas of American life; even against bills that would have protected blacks from lynching.”
Robert Caro, “Master of the Senate: The Years of Lyndon Johnson, vol.3,” p. xv.

Bill Clinton honored and feted (you better look that up, dunce) segregationists and racists his entire political career.

Amusing how many professed Liberals/Democrats/Progressive drones force themselves to believe that suddenly....in 1964.....the slaver party had an epiphany....slapped themselves on the forehead....and proclaimed:

'now I love my darker brethren! I was sooooo wrong to lynch thousands of 'em....and block anti-lynching laws....and impose Jim Crow!!! Oh, woe is me! I'm gonna turn over a new leaf!'
No...they always were racists and remain such.

The Dixiecrats weren't Dixiecans....they were Democrats and continued to be Democrats.

The dolts on the board claim a sudden change in the life-long views of Democrats....
Yet the dolts on this board can't imagine themselves suddenly embracing Republican ideas and politics.
But pretend that the Democrats did just that.

Indoctrination is indelible among the less intellectually endowed.
Raise your paw.

Geee......it's so simple, even you should understand it.

Obama did nothing positive for US business or the economy.

The conditions elucidated in the post is representative of Obama's reign: poverty and loss of incomes.

Like this:

. "Incomes Have Dropped Twice as Much During the 'Recovery' as During the Recession
. ...the Census Bureau's Current Population Survey ....indicate that the real (inflation-adjusted) median annual household income in America has fallen by 4.4 percent during the "recovery," after having fallen by 1.8 during the recession."

Incomes Have Dropped Twice as Much During the 'Recovery' as During the Recession

I fervently await your next lying attempt to shield the mistake in the White House.

I'll explode that one, too.

Waiting
Looks like 0 for 2 as you cut and paste unrelated statistics

Obama stopped the Great Bush Recession of 2008 from turning into a Depression in 2009

Your cut and paste has nothing to do with 2009

That's post is as true as your avi.

Don't you want to challenge me to post over a hundred of his gaffes both in economic policy and foreign policy....like creating ISIS???

C'mon......challenge me.
OK I'll challenge you. This is one of my previous posts:

There's something I never understood that maybe you could clear up.

Seems the GOP was a northern party and the Democrats were a southern party.

How did the GOP end up as the Southern Confederate Party and the Democrats as the Northern Liberal party? Did all the Northern Confederate Republicans move to the south and the Southern Democratic Liberals move up north? Did the populations switch spaces?

I've always wondered.

So happy for this opportunity to enlighten you

From alpha to omega, the Democrats have always been, and are to this day, the party of slavery, segregation, and second class citizenship for minorities.

1.Liberal historian Eric Foner writes that the Klan was “…a military force serving the interests of the Democratic Party…” Foner, “Reconstruction: America’s Unfinished Revolution, 1863-1877,” p. 425

a. "The night riders move through the darkness, whit against the black road....they go about their business, their horsed draped, guns and bullwhips banging dully against saddles.

b. Franklin Roosevelt's first nominee to the Supreme Court was a KKK official.

c. "....this is the South Carolina of the 1870s, not of the turn of a new millennium, and the night riders are the terror of these times. they roam upcountry, visiting their version of justice on poor blacks and the Republicans that support them, refusing to bow to the requirements of the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments."
From the novel "The White Road," by John Connolly

I love it when you bring up the Original Democratic Party that was comprised of the Right while the Republican Party was Progressive. Yes, from 1845 to about 1940. At that point, due to FDR and the sitting congress inacting the Fair Deal Act, the conservatives joined the Republican Party (hijacked more like it) and the original Republicans could stomach being in the same room as them changed to the Democratic Party. Eisenhower was the last old time Progressive Republican. And for the next 10 years, the Progressive Democrats ruled the Presidency.

Nice try, bucko.

Bullshit..Eisenhower was a conservative....in fact he said his biggest mistake was appointing Warren.

Now tell me this name the last democrat more conservative than a republican in a Presidential election?

I have often posted that Leftists.....Democrats, Liberals,.....vote that way because they are stupid and uneducated.

And too lazy to get their own education.

They don't read.

The dunce to whom you are responding is a case in point.

See if you recognize yourself in post #272.

Too funny. In the bubble-world of course President Obama is the worst of the worst, hell many of them don't even believe he is a valid President,or is working for the the radical Islamic terrorist.

In the real world he's probably in the top 10.

Worst, most destructive President in my lifetime....maybe yours.

A query....
1. These words were spoken, and led to the killing of three Baton Rouge policemen....
"groused in a series of videos, photos and online writings, about perceived law enforcement injustices against black people. “You gotta fight back,”

2. These words were spoken, and led to the killing of five Dallas policemen:

"But even those who dislike the phrase “Black Lives Matter,” surely we should be able to hear the pain of Alton Sterling’s family. (Applause.) We should -- when we hear a friend describe him by saying that “Whatever he cooked, he cooked enough for everybody,” that should sound familiar to us, that maybe he wasn’t so different than us, so that we can, yes, insist that his life matters. Just as we should hear the students and coworkers describe their affection for Philando Castile as a gentle soul -- “Mr. Rogers with dreadlocks,” they called him -- and know that his life mattered to a whole lot of people of all races, of all ages, and that we have to do what we can, without putting officers' lives at risk, but do better to prevent another life like his from being lost."

The first, by killer Gavin Long....the second by demagogue Barack Obama.

Did you find anything in the above to disagree with?

Anything?

Links to their complete statements are required to further comment on their statements.

Obviously the ex-Marine was loco. No to mention the Ex Army guy who shot up the Dallas PD.

President Obama's speech in Dallas was one of his best and only highly partisan individuals seek to denigrate it.

"Links to their complete statements are required to further comment on their statements."

No, they're not.

Your trepidation duly noted.

Here's more of what he said:

And I quote Obama:

"We’re here to honor the memory, and mourn the loss, of five fellow Americans...."

Then he began to get into his real theme...

"..... they were assigned to protect and keep orderly a peaceful protest in response to the killing of Alton Sterling of Baton Rouge and Philando Castile of Minnesota. They were upholding the constitutional rights of this country.

Not "death"....but "killing" ...as if adjudicated as such already...

".....centuries of racial discrimination -- of slavery, and subjugation, and Jim Crow -- they didn’t simply vanish with the end of lawful segregation. They didn’t just stop when Dr. King made a speech, or the Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act were signed."

"...we know -- but, America, we know that bias remains. We know it."

(Yet, 65,915,796 voted for him. What a slap in their faces.)

Did the words above belong in an eulogy supposedly honoring the five assassinations???

"....some suffer far more under racism’s burden, some feel to a far greater extent discrimination’s sting. Although most of us do our best to guard against it and teach our children better, none of us is entirely innocent. No institution is entirely immune. And that includes our police departments."

"....unequal treatment; when study after study shows that whites and people of color experience the criminal justice system differently, so that if you’re black you’re more likely to be pulled over or searched or arrested, more likely to get longer sentences, more likely to get the death penalty for the same crime; when mothers and fathers raise their kids right and have “the talk” about how to respond if stopped by a police officer -- “yes, sir,” “no, sir” -- but still fear that something terrible may happen when their child walks out the door,...."

"....all this takes place more than 50 years after the passage of the Civil Rights Act, we cannot simply turn away and dismiss those in peaceful protest as troublemakers or paranoid. (Applause.) We can’t simply dismiss it as a symptom of political correctness or reverse racism. To have your experience denied like that, dismissed by those in authority, dismissed perhaps even by your white friends and coworkers and fellow church members again and again and again -- it hurts."

" As a society, we choose to underinvest in decent schools. We allow poverty to fester so that entire neighborhoods offer no prospect for gainful employment. (Applause.) We refuse to fund drug treatment and mental health programs. (Applause.) We flood communities with so many guns that it is easier for a teenager to buy a Glock than get his hands on a computer or even a book -"

Sounds like he was playing to Micah Johnson...who....if Obama had a son....

And now, your response?

Do you use a special mouthwash to get that 'Obama-balls' smell off your breath?
