I find the idea of burning the American flag objectionable, borderline reprehensible. That being said, should Donald Dump do something along the lines described in the OP, I will be among the first to burn an American flag in the middle of the street shouting "First Amendment Mother Fucker!"

I think most Americans would agree that flag burning is deeply offensive to them, and that is basically what Trump is saying, but Trump has a habit of expressing himself graphically and since most of his critics have no idea why they are so hostile toward him, they grasp at any opportunity no matter how ridiculous to try to justify this irrational hostility they feel.
