Yes, Trump Fires Another IG

Friday night dump. Another one fired. An Inspector General. Again.

He will be replaced by Ambassador Stephen Akard, who previously headed the State Department’s Office of Foreign Missions.

In recent months, Trump has fired several inspectors general, particularly those who have been involved in investigating misconduct accusations against his administration, sparking fears of retaliation.

"On Friday, Politico reported that Steve Linick, the inspector general of the State Department, has been fired.
Linick, a former official of the Justice Department, was appointed to the inspector general position by President Barack Obama in 2013. According to Politico, “he played a minor role in the House of Representatives’ impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, ferrying a trove of documents to lawmakers that had been provided to the State Department by Rudy Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer.”

Linick had opened an investigation of Mike Pompeo. He had to go.

That has been pointed out several times now, but no one seems to say it is illegal to do that.

The Pompeo Investigation may be bogus too as so many other "investigations" have been. The media doesn't have the whole story on this, I want to see more on this than has been revealed.

Maybe Maddow knows the exact count gone from Trump's Admin.
Must be over 850 gone.
So what?? ... :dunno:
He sets records but hardly what you call winning. He is petty. Thats what.

He's more than petty. He's a fucking authoritarian goon who openly admires other totalitarians like Putin, KJU and Mohammed bin Salman.

And the Trumptards on here are just too fucking stupid to see it.

They're salivating over a real hoax that Trump is serving up to them: Obamagate.

Yeah, right. Let's agree to meet back here in about 6 weeks and see how that's going.

Everybody involved has been investigated and excused without fear of prosecution by the DOJ watchdog, Horowitz.

Go ahead, lazy butts. Look it up.

Stop reading your bias into these posts. Trump can fire anyone he wants as all "serve at the pleasure of the president".
Except we don't have a president right now.
We've got a pathological grifter driving our country into a financial crisis that will make 1929 look like a day at the beach.

Draining the swamp. Good.

Firing someone who is investigating your administration isn't "draining the swamp". It is, in fact, a cover-up of illegal activities.

Any trained seal who chants "Drain the swamp" is a total fool. Trump and his buddies are the guys who created the swamp, with their bribery and extortion. Trump and his buddies are busy stuffing their pockets with government cash, while allowing tens of thousands of Americans to die.

Even Donald Trump thinks you're stupid fools.

At least President Trump isn't giving Iran billions of dollars to further their nuclear weapons, or trading five of our captured terrorists for a lowly deserter private.

Thank you for conceding that you have no cogent argument to offer.

Cheers.

Stern and his ass kissing crew are nothing but a bunch of commies. It's why I got rid of my satellite radio years ago. Who cares what he thinks?

As I recall, Obama went after whistleblowers.
It is the President's prerogative to hire and fire anyone he chooses, for any reason. If I were president, I would want only those loyal to my administration working for me. The Obama administration was the same. Even company executives want only loyal employees working for them and when they see any employee bad-mouthing the company on some social website, they fire the employee. That's how it works. Loyalty to the firm. Loyalty to your administration.

Exactly. People were complaining about Yovanovich until it was pointed out to them that Hussein got rid of every single Ambassador before he even stepped foot into the White House. That's the way it's supposed to work.

Trump’s reckless, irresponsible abuse of power.

The people are entitled to government oversight.

What the people are entitled to is what they voted for. We're getting what Trump promised us.

No one gave Iran money to further their Nuclear Weapons. I believe Obama gave them their money as part of the deal to keep them from researching more. They complied last I checked, but that whole deal is long gone so whatever.

He hurt baby Trump's feelings.
The pathetic responses to how Trump fucks this country over is worse.

From YOUR article:

"Linick, a former official of the Justice Department, was appointed to the inspector general position by President Barack Obama in 2013"

That is my response to your pointless post, nothing illegal about the firing at all.
Trumphumpers get it one way. Pointless. I know what I posted.

Your reply is pointless, you still fail to make a case over it, I merely pointed out that there is nothing illegal about it, for your information, I didn't vote for Trump.
STFU. I could care less if it was illegal or not. It's how he goes after anyone who speaks their mind. Especially when true.

Ha ha ha, losing your cool over my reasonable comment.

It is clear that you have no point to make at all, just huff and puff against Trump anyway you can.
Don't you think to point out that Trump seems to systematically fires those who's job it is to hold him to account is a valid point?

You may not know what his job was.
