A&E dealing with death threats. Brilliant.

If pointing out the stupidity of racist rednecks was their aim, then Kudos, they did a good job.

However..................if pointing out the stupidity of the racist rednecks was their aim, then sorry, they did a bad job, because most advertisers, as well as most people in this day and age, won't support them.

It may have been a good idea for publicity, but for keeping the brand alive (as well as the advertising) it was a total fail.

Duck Dynasty needs to go the way of the Whigs, and no, it can't come back like "Dallas" did. Bobby having a hallucination while in the shower isn't a way to move things forward.

And yeah...................the whole GOP since Boehner took office has been a very bad hallucination, sorry, but the GOP is going the way of the Whigs. Even Glenn Beck said so.

lol, now who's playing the victim?

They can have Glaad come an protect them

I guess A&E and the homosexual mafia Glaad thought they could just run over people rights of Freedom of speech and just go on their merry way

I feel no sympathy, they made their bed now they can lie in it

The left/Glaad, etc better get a clue...The people in this country don't take kindly to being BULLIED

'Duck Dynasty' Network A&E Gets Death Threats Amid Phil Robertson Suspension

PREVIOUS, 8:47 AM: A&E Network has had to beef up security at its New York headquarters after receiving death threats and suspicious packages from people enraged about the network’s decision to suspend Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson. No formal meetings are schedule today between A&E and the Robertson clan, who yesterday issued a statement saying they “cannot imagine” doing the show without Phil — which, loosely translated, means “No Phil – no show.” That said, the network, which has had a good working relationship with the family (as the clan noted in its statement), is “always talking to them,” as one source with knowledge of the family said. The decision to suspend Phil Robertson triggered a firestorm and has created some strange bedfellows; last night Jon Stewart defended Phil’s “right to say ignorant shit” — joining Phil defenders Sarah Palin, who’d tweeted “Those ‘intolerants’ hatin’ and taking on the Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing his personal opinion are taking on all of us,” and Republican Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who’d pronounced it “It is a messed up situation when Miley Cyrus gets a laugh, and Phil Robertson gets suspended.”

/snip

A&E put Robertson on hiatus for an indefinite period of time after a GQ story came out in which he made incendiary comments about homosexuality, and the condition of blacks in pre-civil-rights-era U.S. A network publicist was on site when GQ sent Deadspin writer Drew Magary to the Robertsons’ Louisiana home to hang out for a day. Magary has remained mum about the fracas that has erupted since posting on website Deadspin, the morning the article was released to the press, that it is his policy not to be “unfair, predictable and dickish” when he profiles people — which he noted sounds hypocritical “given all the stones I throw here at Deadspin, like the NERDY KEYBOARD COWBOY NERD that I am.”

Magary said he likes Phil Robertson, called him a “decent guy” who is “a deeply religious fellow who takes his Bible straight, no chaser… and has decidedly retrograde, ripped-from-Corinthians views on topics like abortion and homosexuality”, and that he hopes ” whatever fuss arises out of his comments…will soften him a bit toward what he believes to be wicked behavior.”

“Consider this my own version of ‘hate the sin, love the sinner’,” Magary concluded.

What the hell, people. I don't get it. I mean somebody's cheese done slid clear off the cracker if death threats make sense in a situation like this.

Where's the proof of these "death threats"?

blogzapit and euroweb says so

is it must be so

A&E believed that they would have the support of an outraged majority. Gays tell them that all the time, the majority accepts same sex marriage and the normalization of homosexuality. It's not true though. A&E found that out. Cracker Barrel thought that the majority would appreciate their brave stance in standing up for gay rights. They were wrong. Phil Robertson was and is right.

Strange times we live in when I understand a foreign culture whose laguage I don't get word one of makes more sense to me than my own.

people are tired of being "BULLIED" by the militant homosexual regime in this country

They think they can DICTATE what you can and can't say or they set out to DESTROY you

people better start standing up to it

You under stand it. You just don't relate to it.

Death threats and mysterious packages......GOOD. It's time the suits with A&E got the message we're sick of this shit, sick of them, sick of the whole PC package of having to accept perversion as normal. The Robertsons are actually a bunch of yuppies who got lucky riding the gravy train the old man put on the tracks. They became a bunch of characters and A&E thought they'd be laugh-fodder for a season or two. Didn't exactly turn out that way. Now they've messed with their OWN gravy train. And tapped into a cauldron of disgust about the way the queers are messing with the dominant culture. So if the suits at A&E want this to stop it's up to them to stop or keep their head on a swivel. We got our share of characters who've taken this personal enough to deliver some payback. My bet is they've seen the writing on the wall and intend to end Phil's "suspension" when it's time to shoot a new show, sometime next month.

I put this out on another topic, would all the liberals on here be okay if a gay actor got fired for acting too gay? Samething phil got fired for by liberal standards over stating his religion. If that is an firing offense, then overstating being gay could be an firing offense.

Did you really think there were not going to be idiots and nut cases who would chime in?
Ignore them. They will go away.
Hank Aaron received hundreds of thousands of death threats if he hit home run #715.
Mr Aaron is alive and well some 40 years after he eclipsed the record.
