The Official Trump/Harris Debate Thread....With Live Feed

She very clearly said she would sign a law restoring Roe v. Wade when it reached her desk.

Guy, people said for years that Roe would never be overturned so we don't have to worry.

Now we have 20 states where women can bleed to death in the hospital parking lot because doctors don't want to get charged with a crime.
And that shows that Kamala is an insurrectionist. Settled law gives regulation of abortion to the states and the people, she would have no constitutional authority to do otherwise.

I didn't like the moderators fact checking trump especially on like the abortion thing. He didn't say it was happening he was talking about a few democrat politicians that were discussing doing it. But that lady mod snapped back but she never fact checked any of kamalas lies. She put her own context on what trump said.
Which "lie" by Kamala Harris needed fact-checked?

There was only one pathological liar on stage last night.

Of course theoretically President Trump would veto it, as it would be unconstitutional. The settled law is that abortion is a STATE matter, and not a federal one.
It was settled law (and common sense) for 52 years that the decision to end a pregnancy should be between a woman and her doctor.

Again, you guys can't be trusted on this issue, and the fact that Trump refused to commit to vetoing such an awful law is good enough to vote against him. (Not that there aren't about 100 other good reasons.)

...

Given your many posts defending and supporting the hard working immigrant families you encounter teaching….. well, if you’re trying to say Trump wasn’t trying to use this bizarre story to incite fear, then I’ve lost a great deal of respect

You don't think drugs and human trafficking are important issues?

Roe vs. Wade was "Settled Law"... until it wasn't.

"Those more acquainted with Ginsburg and her thoughtful, nuanced approach to difficult legal questions were not surprised, however, to hear her say just the opposite, that Roe was a faulty decision. For Ginsburg, the landmark 1973 Supreme Court decision that affirmed a woman’s right to an abortion was too far-reaching and too sweeping, and it gave anti-abortion rights activists a very tangible target to rally against in the four decades since."

wonder how she would have voted in 2022?

No shit. I bet most people watching already knew that.

What will she do on day one? That would have been a great question for her to answer but she refused and those dinky moderators let her skate as they did repeatedly throughout the mess.

Now we have 20 states where women can bleed to death in the hospital parking lot because doctors don't want to get charged with a crime.
Hyperbole much? You never link, you just spout.

Questions by the moderators, such as, "You are wrong about your facts", to "Why do you suck as a human being so bad"? were enjoyed by all.

Questions about a second debate are up in the air with a suggested live tar and feathering of Trump may be in the works.

I TOLD YOU Democrats would not stop CHEATING. And just like that we are back to RIGGED debates RIGGED for the Democrat RIGGED with Dem shill debate moderators fact checking the Republican INCORRECTLY which is the Dem candidate's job.

It's not the first time Dem shill debate moderators RIGGED it for the Dem. Go back to the Romney/Obama debate. The Dem shill debate moderator jumped into the debate, fact checking Romney in the moment, INCORRECTLY which threw Romney completely off his game. Within an hour of the debate it was determined the asshole Dem shill moderator was WRONG!

Nasty lying cheating Democrats, there's no lower form of life.

There are calls for Republicans to NEVER accept another network 'moderated' debate with Democrats again.

Than talk about that for fucks sake

What possible purpose did talking about “the illegals are eating our pets” serve?

Apart from everything else, it made him sound like a rambling moron

And, like, five posts into this conversation you have yet to address one way or another the racist implications

How about trying to respond directly instead of lame, limp wristed what about-isms

Roe vs. Wade was "Settled Law"... until it wasn't.
So were Dredd Scott and Plessey.
We amended the constitution to fix Dred.

Plessey was unconstitutional from the get-go.

Roe was a common sense ruling to get rid of cruel and unenforced laws.

And if the Evangelicals hadn't taken up the issue to get asses back into pews, it wouldn't even be controversial.

I wondered about that. Roe vs Wade was never a law, it was a decision by a court. Would a law be different than a decision? I think so.
